Thankful Thursday

I thank God for:

Waking up to a new day knowing every day is a gift from the Lord.
I am so thankful for His sustaining grace.

The beauty of the rural setting of South View Farm in Central NY
and the wonderful memories made there this summer.

The love of and for our grandson.  He is one of God's most precious gifts to us!
He says that he loves grandma and grandpa with all his heart!
Love the shirt!  It says,  "If you think I'm cute, you ought to see my Mom!"
She is pretty cute, don't you think!   Miss her sooo much!

Welcoming a new member to our family and being able be at
John and Wen's  wedding!  She is such a lovely young lady!

We really do have so much to be thankful for!
Our hearts are overflowing!

Recipe of the Week - Pineapple-Raisin Sauce

Pineapple-Raisin Sauce

1/2 c. brown sugar
1/8 c. honey dijon mustard
dash of ground ginger
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drained
1 c. dark raisins
1/2 tsp. cornstarch
1/2 tbs. water

In medium saucepan, mix together brown sugar, mustard, ginger and cloves so that mustard moistens sugar.

To sugar mixture, add drained pineapple, and raisins. Over medium-high heat, bring just to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer about 10-15 minutes, or until slightly thickened.

Mix cornstarch with water, then stirring this mixture into the raisin sauce, continue to simmer about 8-10 minutes. Serve with pork or chicken.

Have a Yummy Day,

NY Vacation 2013 - Sean Michael's Pre-school Graduation Program - Scrapbook Pages

Sean Michael had a bit of trouble getting into the Tooty-ta Song.  I asked him why, and he replied, "I'm a little shy, Grandma!"  But he did get moving, and it was such a cute sight seeing all those pre-schoolers doing the motions, and singing the lyrics of the Tooty-ta Song.  We later found a video of the Tooty-ta Song on YouTube and Sean Michael and Grandma practiced it together.  Such fun!

As you can see from the first picture, Sean Michael was having a little difficulty with his star name tag as it was really scratching his neck, and he was finding it to be quite uncomfortable.  He did such a great job leading the Pledge of Allegiance!  He was pretty happy to receive his Graduation Diploma and his "Wiz Kid" Award.  Grandma and Grandpa couldn't have been prouder.  We felt so blessed to be able to be there and share this special day with our grandson.

Have a Blessed Day,
