A Valentine's Gift Package
My daughter and I have both been shopping for sweaters for boys to no avail. She loved the sweater I knitted for Sean Michael a few years back and wanted me to knit another. So during the cooler months here in Arizona, I decided to make another. I really haven't knitted in a bit, but I did enjoy putting this sweater together. The last sweater I knit him was a size three, and this one a size five.
My dear friend, Melda, an expert knitter, was such a help to me. She knits the most beautiful sweaters for her grandchildren and friends. Fortunate people are those who are gifted with one of her creations. Yes, she designs her own sweaters (without the use of a pattern). She is teaching me much! We really enjoyed our early morning knitting sessions, she with her tea and me with my coffee, and our knitting needles clickety-clicking along and sharing heart-to-heart conversation.
Well, the sweater is done and in a Valentine gift box shipped east. We try to send our grandson a monthly gift box filled with things we think he might like. This month, of course, heart-shaped box of chocolates and candy hearts, a Valentine's card (and for Sissy too), story books written by a friend, monthly children's devotional, 3-D coloring book, Legos, coins we've saved in SMQ's Piggy Bank fund and the sweater (hope it fits.) The best part....the telephone call from our Grandson with an enthusiastic "thank you" for his package...there is always delight in his voice!
Have a Blessed Day,
